Why the World is not getting Worse

2017 Update: We must keep in mind that progress is not a linear process.

After a year of terrible attacks and crisis, many people have the feeling that the world is getting worse.

The World in 2015 - A Retrospective

But is that really so? Here is my year-end speech for you (;

An article I read today and my FB newsfeed inspired me to add some facts to the subjective feeling that everything is becoming worse.

The world in 2015 - A retrospective

With all the terrible things happening all over the world it is easy to see why we would get the feeling that 2015 was a terrible year and humanity is going down.

Paris, Donald Trump, the comeback of the MacRib, German Wings, Wars, Syria, Refugee Crisis, ISIS, Mass Shootings, Roundup, Gang Violence, Deflation, Inflation, Ebola, Corruption, Racist Blame Games, Drug Abuse - one could think that the world has become a large pile of crap.

The Four Candles - Short Story

An Advent Story

Four candles were lit on the Advent wreath. It was so quiet that you could hear when the candles started to talk.
Advent Short Story

The first candle with a sigh of resignation said: "My name is Peace. My light shines, but the people do not keep the peace." Her light became smaller and smaller until it faded.

The second candle flickered and said: "My name is Belief. I am completely needless as the people are not interested in me anymore. There is no point in me burning. A draft of air blows through the room, and the candle was out.

Quietly and sad the third candle started to speak: "My name is Love. I do not have strength to burn anymore. The people ignore me. They only see themselves and not the others they are supposed to love." With a last flicker, this candle went out too.

A child entered the room. It looked at the candles and said: "Hey. You are supposed to burn." The child nearly started to cry.

It was then that the fourth candle started talking: "Don´t be afraid. As long as I shine we can lit the other candles again. My name is Hope." The child took a match and relights all of the other candles.

Review of Story Seekers, Mike Bosworth Leadership

Story Seekers Chicago

Story Seekers Open Workshop

This honest review of Story Seekers will look at the good and the bad.

Mike Bosworth founded Mike Bosworth Leadership in 2008. In the late 90ties, he became a legend of sales training with his Solution Selling program. Back then (and that has not changed until this day) around 20 % (or less) of the salespeople accounted for 80 % of the sales.

Mike´s mission was to help the 80 % underperforming salespeople to keep up with the pack at the top.

Mike´s headache

It turned out that Solution Selling made the top 20 % even better. But it did not make the other 80 % better. The gap even increased.

From a technical point of view, Solution Selling was (and is!) perfect. But there was one link missing.

In early 2008 Mike discovered the power of Story.

But story is not story. The best story told the wrong way is not captivating the listener. The most captivating story might not influence change in the listener.

At first, Mike thought that these soft skills cannot be trained. But Mike would not be a legend of sales training if he would have left it at this.

Mike discovered and analyzed and was able to create a framework that will allow anyone to influence through connective listening and the power of story.

Who needs Story Seekers and why?

Story Seekers is not limited to salespeople. It is for anyone who is in the position of influencing change in others. From online marketer to fundraiser, board director, coach to a lawyer, public speaker, realtor...

Naturally, Sales Managers with a team of sales guys with empty pipelines and a track record of lost RFP´s can help their teams with this tool. Story Seekers takes the salesy, the sleazy and the pushiness out of sales. It teaches how to influence change through the art of storytelling and most importantly story tending.

Salespeople are not very good listeners. You could say that we have a tendency to suffer from selective hearing. We learned not to think in features but solutions. Soon solutions became our new features.

As soon as a customer mentions A-NY-THING that could allow us to propose our solution we stop listening. While we look at the client, we count the commission in our brains and wait for the next best moment to interrupt or for when the prospect needs to take a breath.

At the point you throw in solutions, it´s too late to learn about the story of the prospect. The discussion will drift to discussions about the "solution" or even technical environment. At this point, you do not know the vision of the prospect and you are rather lucky if your solution happens to fit and you get the deal.

It does takes a while to shake off the reflex of forcing solutions on a client instead of listening to him.

The Story Seekers Workshop

Rob Stenberg and John Kratz, two of Mike´s Affiliates invited me to come to Minnesota for a Workshop.

The Workshop is 2.5 days long.

You already know the agenda of the training - teaching us how to influence change through connective listening and a powerful sales/influencer story so that I will focus on the quality of the WS.

The rotation of team tasks, tasks, listening mode and reflection kept everyone's attention throughout the 2.5 days. I do not find anything to criticize.

Mike Bosworth´s Workshops are not the type where you just sit passive. In the evenings, you will have to do homework.

The good

  • Extremely skilled, qualified and also likable set of trainer
  • Excellent trainer that are not just talk but have "street" experience and sales success
  • It was amazing to see how the attendees grew in the course of the 2.5 days
  • It is not a "story teller" workshop but a story influencer training

The bad

  • I would have wished for some follow-up support until Story Seekers becomes a habit and maybe a few tools to make it even easier for me to implement Story Seekers. Well, it´s maybe not "the bad" because no other training offers this
  • You will have to discipline yourself after the training to further your art

Story Seeker will change the way influencer communicate for good.

Besides all of the testimonials (we all know how that sometimes works, right?) I have seen other people and myself grow in just 2.5 days.

But do not take my word for it. Take my life for it.

A "LinkedIn expert" has recently deleted my entrance jobs from my profile (data entry, team assistant). The expert was not impressed that I have no formal education. I did not study or earn an MBA or anything like that. My LinkedIn starts at when I became a secretary.

What you will see is that I took one course: Mike Bosworth´s Solution Selling. Followed by years of successful sales and sales management career at companies like SAP and Logica UK (Management Consulting, Enterprise Intelligence, Data Mining, Export Manager). Pretty impossible, huh? I had no idea what performance indicators or neural networks are.

What you will also discover is that THE sales trainer legend Mike Bosworth has asked me if I wanted to work with him. I have a great business and have no intention to work for someone. So I waited a while until I said: OH, YES, MIKE!!!!!! I am now holding dream jobs at once.

Regarding "the bad": It´s a positive now. Everyone who books their workshop or company training HERE gets 1 month of exclusive access to my membership area, weekly support calls and tools that will allow him to make Story Seekers their new habit even faster. Included in the regular fee.

I rest my case and leave the conclusion about the quality of MB training up to you.

GMO and Organic Food Labeling

A Conflict in Food Labeling?

GMO and Organic Food Labeling
Here is a thought I just had while I was chopping organic carrots.

Yes, "organic carrots". I was cutting carrots really but for some reason companies that produce food in natural ways have to go through a complicated and lengthy process to be allowed to tell me that they produced a healthy carrot in a sustainable way.

Killing time around Christmas

Time is all we have

"Time is a game played beautifully by children." Heraclitus

Procrastination around ChristmasGerman author Erich Kastner said: Remember the 5th commandment, don´t kill your time.

Wait, that doesn't sound right. It should say: "Thou shalt not kill". Is this rewording just a catchy phrase or is a deeper meaning hidden behind it?

In the end of the day, time is all we have left before we die. Lifetime. Killing time is like killing a little bit of yourself.

I am probably guilty of some killing of time myself. I love the picture above this line. It looks so fragile and precious and is a great metaphor for the lifetime we have to spend.

Killing time is when you do things that do not really have a meaning. No significance. Binge watching a poorly made crime show for instance.

Couldn´t  we use our time better? Maybe go to college? Helping a good cause?

Killing time is also if you are not in the Now. If your thoughts wander around in the future and you make your actions contingent of future development you are putting off the real life. Like better weather, having more time, money and so on and so forth.

Until then we stay in a relationship that is not working or a job we hate. Or we do not take the steps necessary to get closer to our goals.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying a computer game (guilty!) or a show on tv from time to time. But only if you enjoy it with your full presence and if you stay aware that you are living Now.

Procrastination around Christmas

December is the time of the year where people tend to put off things and procrastinate the most. "I´ll do that next year." "Only one week until Christmas."

If you think about it: deduct the public holidays and you end up with as many working days as in February. So why would we be less productive in Christmas? A time to relax? A needed break?

Putting things off is not relaxing. Again, make sure that you use your lifetime wisely and enjoy what you are doing (or not doing) with every cell of your body in the Here and Now.

Some Christmas procrastinators tell themselves "after new year´s eve I will do things differently". If you live in the Now you will never find a need for new year´s resolutions.

It´s 5 to Christmas and you have already received your present from the Universe: The gift of life. Lifetime.

Procrastination - Facts and Solution

Is Procrastination a Disease?

Or are Procrastinators Just Lazy?

Procrastination Facts and Solutions
We use the term procrastination a lot but do we understand what it means for those who suffer from it? I wanted to write this post earlier, but the fish of my pen pal´s mothers sister had the hiccups.

No, seriously. This article took me a long time because I did not want it to be just another motivational post but offer facts and info. Facts can be a bit of a dry read.

I bet you see it every day on your timelines and in your email inboxes: Posts that imply you just need to be committed and stop being lazy.

But is it always that easy?

Procrastination is a problem every single person has to a certain extent. There are different causes, types, and solutions.

Foods That Make You More Productive

Food influences how much you get done

My last posts were about goal-setting and how to achieve more by having the right mindset and attitude.

As pointed out in my articles

the role of nutrition should not be underestimated when it comes to productivity. Just like bad fuel will make your car run slower or even damage the engine, your food choices have a huge impact on your productivity and finally your level of success.

Actually, that is a pretty good comparison - we all now what happens when you put sugar in the tank of your car (;

One of the first things I read in the news this morning is that McDonalds Japan is releasing a 48-Chicken McNuggets Menu in Japan. Facebook suggest as "trending news" that Pringles will add some holiday flavors.

One of the sites I follow posted about dangerous ingredients in "Fruit Loops" (surprise.....). It seems that the awareness for the importance of eating "good" foods is still not at the level I would wish for.

But when I checked my email a friendly reader of my blog had sent me this awesome picture that I need to share with you:

Productivity is Served: Get More Done When You Eat These Foods

GMO Danger - Foods to avoid

11/19/2015 GMO salmon cleared for human consumption. The AquaBounty frankensalmon I told you about received clearing by federal regulation. Shares went up 6.4 %. Cynical. No labelling required.

Avoid these GMO Foods

After chatting with someone yesterday who was under the impression that he is not taking in any foods that contain genetically modified organisms, I decided to publish a quick list.

This list of GMO foods to avoid is for the United States of America. With a great amount of help from Monsanto, America is the leading GMO country and the list does not necessarily apply to other countries with stricter GMO laws.

GMO DANGER - Foods to avoid

Introduced into the market in 1994, companies are not required to label GMO in the United States. If you want to change that please visit the site of the Organic Consumers Association.

Bill Freese of the Center of Food Safety stated that 60-70 % of the foods in US supermarkets contain GMO.

"Natural" foods that contain any ingredients from the lists below are not safe to be GMO-free.

Elite Master DreamBuilder Annual Event

Spots for Elite Master DreamBuilder still available

I think of myself as a thoughtful person. Guess how surprised I was when I have been called a "selfish person" today.

A friend wanted to know if I have time this Saturday and I told her that I would attend the annual Elite Master DreamBuilder Event.

Her exact words were: "You are such a selfish person. You send me so much marketing, but you do not tell me about this event."

Ouch. That hurt. After getting over the pain from the punch, I analyzed her words and I understood: "Please, do send me more marketing."

Anyway. Point taken. That event is awesome every year, the speakers are great and Mary is one of the most effective and knowledgeable coaches out there - and after all it only happens once a year. In my defense: I was busy working on an article about procrastination for you ...

Subscribers to my newsletter know about exciting events like this  - at least tomorrow (:

Without further due: This is the event my friend was talking about.

Spots are limited due to technical restrictions. Access the event HERE

Play the Rejection Game

Hunting Rejection

The Rejection GameI get out of my car and walk to the USPS office when I see her in front of a Mexican restaurant.

She is attractive, middle-aged and holds something in her hand that I want: A box with deliciously smelling Jalapeno poppers.

Sadly, I did not even bring my purse. I just wanted to pick up a parcel quickly. What to do?

Normally I would be a little bit mad at myself and promise to not go out again without any money.

But I started to play a new game a few weeks ago. Today is not "normally". That is why I look the woman in the eye and ask her if I can have a popper. Her name is Susan and I get three poppers.

And I lose the game.

One does not do that!

Have you ever been in a situation where you would have liked to ask for something and you did not? Because one does not do that. Also, there is a good chance the answer will be "no".

The rejection game

Proactive search for the possibility of being rejected. Who gets rejected wins the game of the day.

The Neuroscience of Happiness

Happiness is not a Hammock

The Neuroscience of HappinessDoes that sound familiar to you? Your life is pretty good. You achieved a few goals that were important to you.

Your relationship works well or you are a happy single. You are healthy and your financial situation allows for a comfortable life. Even your friendships and relationship with family members are generally positive and just like you´d wish for.

Life is great.

But still you are not fully satisfied. Something is eating you up. You are cranky. Maybe you are snappish and easily annoyed. And you have no idea why you would feel that way.

Many people feel like that. They have the feeling that they arrived where they wanted to. They found their hammock and could swing happily in it and enjoy life.

If it were not for the growing discontent. And you have no idea where the latent dissatisfaction is coming from.

Heaven and Hell - Short Story of a Samurai

About Heaven and Hell

A very aggressive and combative samurai once asked a zen priest to explain to him what heaven is. And what hell is.

The wise priest replied scornfully: "You are nothing but a bully, I do not waste my time with the likes of you."

Heaven and Hell - Short StoryThe samurai felt insulted and disrespected. He tore his sword from its sheath and yelled at the priest: "You will die for your disrespect!"

"That", the priest said laid-back, "is hell."

Astounded by the realization of the truth in what the priest said about the anger he just witnessed the samurai calmed down.

He put his sword back in its sheath, bowed down to the priest and thanked him for the insight.

"And that", the priest said, "is the heaven."

Are you setting the right goals?

Goal setting done right

Are you setting the right goals? Vague goals = vague results

When asked for their goals and wishes, many people will reply:

  • I want to be happy
  • I want money
  • I want success

Goals have to be concrete and tangible. These are not.

No worries - that does not make these goals worth less or wrong. It is more about the question: Are they useful? Do they aid you in achieving your goals?

A vague goal is not tangible and that makes it hard to work towards it. That is one of the major reasons people do not achieve their goals and dreams. Vague goals generally only lead to vague results.

Goals on a high level are not able to create the strong feelings needed for achieving a complicated goal. And every goal worth achieving is scary. Even less will those general goals be able to give the right marching orders to your brain. Once your brain understands what you need and want it will help you get it.

Think of your brain as a stupid, mean, 3 year old wizard that is forced to grant you a wish and is trying to screw you if your wording leaves as much as a tiny loophole.

I am not trying to destroy your positive relationship with your brain. My point is: You need to be as exact as can be. And always (ALWAYS!) use positive words. "I will not fail again with .... " is a very negative statement and goal.

Did you miss the first part? You can find it HERE

More Myths about the Brain

The three pounds of mass we carry over our shoulders define who we are. No other species´ brain is developed to an extent like ours. At the same time, there is no other organ surrounded by as many myths.

Have you heard statements like these? The male brain is larger than the female brain. A strong mental effort trains our gray matter.

But which statement is true and which is nothing more than a myth? After we checked on the veracity of 4 myths a while ago we will be looking at 4 more today.

The Power of Story Telling

Story Telling / Story Tending

Why do we love to hear stories

Do you remember when you were a kid and your parents read a "good night" story to you? Didn´t you love it? Stories inspire our fantasy and enable us to create visions.

We see pictures. We become part of the story. We abstract, we learn, we create.

When it comes to Business the important question is: what can we achieve with storytelling?
  • With stories, we inform others about our achievements
  • With stories, we create positive feelings in others
  • With stories, we establish ourselves as interesting dialogue partners
  • With stories that are authentic, we invite someone to open up and share their stories with us
"Dialogue partner" is a better position than "sleazy sale guy", right? So what is the deal with storytelling and how can it make a sales team more successful?

How To Make More Money (Realist Version)

Making more money is simple

Money is the green we all are following. It buys us freedom, health, beautiful things, and a comfortable life. While not everything you can do to help others has a price tag, even helping others can become easier when you´re financially comfortable.

Those green Benjamins are a currency. In former times, people have exchanged goods to trade for services or other products.

In some countries, I believe, you can still buy a wife with camels.

Why people fail to make more money

What if I tell you that it´s pretty simple to understand how to make more money, even though there are rarely shortcuts?

We exchange money for goods and services. How much money we give for a product or service depends on its value.

Maybe, you would pay 100k for a Ferrari. If that Ferrari had bumps or other damages, you would pay less. A Ferrari with flaws has less value.

We might not like hearing this:

The money we are currently making is the value we are offering to the market or the perception of the market of our value.

The easiest way to make more money is, to bring a higher value to the market or change the market's perception of us. Or maybe we just have to enlarge the piece of the market that knows we even exist.

We might have to take action to be seen, prospect more often raises our self-esteem and feeling of self-worth -  or upgrade our skill set.

The perceived value should be higher than the price of your service/product.

It just takes 5 minutes to sit down and think about how one can raise his value.

Two misconceptions about money:

The Law of Attraction Misunderstanding

Latest since the movie "The Secret" came out, many people are under the impression they can sit on their couches, visualize a Benjamin - and they will receive money.

There are several "Law of attraction" groups on Facebook who post Ferrari/House/Jewel pictures and comment that the law of attraction will buy them that car, house.

I hated to be the one to break it to them: This is not how the Universe works.

Opportunities are all around us. Always.

Our focus, our beliefs, and fears - many factors decide how our brain filters what we "see." If I told you today that you will see an elephant figurine in the next week, you would probably doubt that. I believe you will see one. Not because it suddenly manifested but because your focus shifted.

We "see" only small amounts of what is around us. Just imagine how you most of the time stop hearing the sound of the cars driving on the road in front of your house.

The Universe is full of abundance. The right way of thinking, altering the filter in our brain will lead to seeing more of the opportunities all around us. We´ll still have to grab them and take action.

We do not change reality. We change our perception. And THAT works.

The dirty money trap

Many people think that money is dirty and wrong. They will probably never have a lot of it and if they would it would cause problems for them.

Money is not good or bad. Just like a knife is not good or bad. Money is just a currency.

It is hard to attract something you perceive to be negative.

The best and strongest visualization is imagining your higher goal. Do you want to help a third world country? What do you want to do with the money you wished you had?

The brain is very resourceful in getting us what we want. The less concrete we word our "order," the better. There are several ways that lead to the desired result.  Big picture "orders" work the best.

Love it - visualize it - believe it - do it.

This Workshop can help you accelerate the process: REGISTER

Thanks for reading and have a great day.

Alfred Herrhausen - A Leader Ahead Of His Time

Germany´s Most Powerful Manager Broke Taboos

Alfred Herrhausen - A Leader Ahead Of His Time

Ph.D. Alfred Herrhausen (1930 - 1989) was a leader way ahead of his time. He was a German banker and he polarized the German nation as well as the banking sector. In his lifetime, he had a lot of critics. He was considered arrogant and cold - nothing could be farther away from the truth.

Much has been said about his achievements as a business person. Several publications focus on chronological descriptions of the career of this brave man.

I am inviting you to learn more about the fascinating personality of Dr. Alfred Herrhausen and the leadership skills that made him so successful.

While there are many managers I respect for their achievements, there is (or was) only one manager I admire, look up to and consider a role model.

Even though Dr. Alfred Herrhausen, who was born in 1930, was assassinated by a terrorist organization, RAF (Red Army Faction terrorized Germany from 1971 to 1993) already in 1989, his style of leadership makes him someone we can learn from to this day.

Come with me on a journey through the life of Alfred Herrhausen.

What made Alfred Herrhausen a Myth?

  • How could this philosophy lover, who was not even a banker become the most successful manager of Germany?
  • Can dividends and decency go together?
Yes, if you are Alfred Herrhausen dividends and decency can go together!

Success Is Learned Through Failure

Success is not a matter of coincidence, luck or misfortune. Success is learnable. And every setback, every mistake, every failure can be an important step on your road to success.

Success is learned through failureBeing Successful (Mis)Step after (Mis)Step

  • Sources of inspiration
  • 3 Steps to success
Be always prepared to fail. Or better: to fall. To fall forward.

Finding sources of inspiration/motivation

We are always on the hunt for new sources of motivation and inspiration.

No matter if it's the philosophy of life of someone we look up to, a shared facebook picture, a coaching program or book - or even a graffiti on a wall. You are surrounded by motivating and inspiring thoughts. You just have to accept them and make them part of your life and daily routine.

How to unclutter your mind

4 Easy Tips for Efficiency

4 Tips for Uncluttering your MindYou probably have heard those tips for uncluttering your mind before. But while many people feel stressed, only very few follow these tips in everyday life.

It is easy to lose the overview and keep your mind fresh. Every year, new communication devices crawl into our lives. In addition to our phones, we now have smartphones. We receive emails, text messages, video calls and spend a lot of time in company intranets and on social media.

Subliminal360 Brain Hacker Software Review

Subliminal360 Brain Hacker SoftwareSubliminal360 Review

Why would you need brain hacking software?

Sometimes, when you can't accomplish something, you need an extra hand. You may be working towards a better career or a better life and when you are not making progress, it is time to try something new.

We have all tried the old process of working hard to get to our goals, but it is frankly ineffective. Don't get me wrong, working hard is important, but when you aren't getting results, you need to bring in something new.

I am talking about brain hacking. Now we have seen the words lifehacking been thrown around, what is brain hacking? In a nutshell: Manipulating your brain so that you can achieve your goals faster. It is sort of like training your brain to do something you want. For instance, if you want to learn something, you can tune your brain to help you learn it faster. Or maybe you have trouble sleeping or a high level of anxiety.

Kombucha and Weight Loss

Does Kombucha help you lose weight?

Is diet drink Kombucha just a trend?

Kombucha and Weight LossRecently, I have been reading a lot about how Kombucha is the new weight loss wonder drink. New week - new weight loss wonder, right?

Let´s investigate if Kombucha lives up to the hype.

Kombucha is being used in China for over 2000 years and for hundreds of years through Asia and Europe for its health benefits.

I started to drink and make my own Kombucha tea around 20 years ago. It seems that now Kombucha is a trendy drink that is said to aid in weight loss. Is that true?

Preamble: Limits of our analytical thinking

We have learned to think in categories of cause and effect. Risks and benefits. Therefore, we want to analyze and understand exactly how organic products work.

The advantage of industrially produced goods is that we know their chemical structures. We can investigate how the individual components act in the body and most of the time understand their biological action. Once we understand the biological action we can conclude side effects and effects.

While synthetic remedies contain one or few active substances, natural components like Kombucha can contain up to 70 different substances. We are not able to understand all of the effects and interactions of the single components.

Avoiding Job Burnout - What you need to know

Job Burnout Signs / Recovery / How to Avoid

Avoiding Job BurnoutJob burnout or the burnout syndrome has become a widespread disease in the industrialized world. Since 1990, the number of sick leaves for emotional distress has more than doubled. Job stress has been declared one of the biggest threats of the century by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Competing for attention in a world of electronic and "social" media adds to the problem.

Even though performance-oriented people are most likely to suffer from a burnout it is not just a "manager problem". A burnout can hit anyone. People with the helper syndrome are also vulnerable for burnouts.

4 Myths About The BrainDespite new scientific findings, myths are tenacious. Partly because new information takes a while to find their way into the media and the public eye. Maybe sometimes we want to believe them and do not care to dig into complex issues.

The following 4 myths about the human brain are very popular and common:

Myth 1 = We only use 10 % of our brain capacity

I am sure you heard very many times that you are only using a tiny part of your brain.

We are only using a very small portion of our brain capacity. Fact. We all have the potential for development. Fact.

Only the assumption is wrong. When our brain activity is being recorded via MRI scan (magnetic resonance imaging) only a small part of our brain is active. However, it is important to know that different parts of our brain are active at different times.

While our brain represents only 2 % of our total body mass it uses 20 % of the energy. Our body could not supply the energy necessary if all parts of the brain would be active at once.

These 4 Foods Sabotage Your Success

4 Foods That Impact Your Brain Function

Did you know that your diet could be sabotaging your success?
4 Food That Harm Brain And Success
The food we eat is not only important for our overall health, but is most important for our brain health and therefore, your success in all aspects of your life.

A short while ago the German media was going berserk on a producer of salmon spread. Why? Because he was honest. The translation of the part marked red is:

"Can affect activity and concentration of kids." (ADHS)

Let´s ignore for now that this is not a problem of one producer who was honest enough to print it on the label. Most processed food and junk food contains these or other as harmful additives.

My Morning Mentor - Another LOA Scam?

Review of My Morning Mentor

My review of Mary Morrissey´s "My Morning Mentor", Life Mastery Institute reflects my experience with the second product I purchased from Mary. Without my positive experience with The DreamBuilder, I would likely not have bothered with My Morning Mentor. Read why.

What is My Morning Mentor good for?

My Morning Mentor Review, Mary Morrissey
We all have different passions and aspirations and are unique in our own special ways, but there is one universal goal that we all strive for: Success. Everyone wants to be successful, and in the ideal world, we all would be. But the fact is that only a few people are deserving of the "successful" moniker.

8 Habits of Successful People

What Successful People do

Often, people make the assumption that to make money and be successful you have to have either money or power. Or both.
8 Things Successful People Do
This is not true. Success is a decision, a mindset, an expectation. Anyone can be successful. Every successful person can be more successful. Circumstances can make achieving success harder or easier, but they do not decide if we will be successful. We decide that.

Here is the thing: If you come home and the power is out and you hear music and see lights in houses surrounding yours. Would you think that the universe has set you up for a power outage? That you will never have light in your living room?

No. You would think that a wire broke or a fuse jumped and figure the problem out and solve it. That is how successful people go about setbacks in personal relationships, careers, and business ventures. But many people who suffer failure or setbacks in their professional lives feel that the universe is responsible for it. They unconsciously make setbacks their status quo and failure their attitude.

The laws of the universe are precise and perfect. They apply to everyone and it is up to us to use them to our advantage. That is what successful people do.

Here is the good news: Nature is neutral. Nature does not care if you are successful. It does not sort people into those who are allowed to make it and those who are not.

So what differentiates successful people from others?

Who is Mary Morrissey / Life Mastery Institute?

Mary Morrissey Life Mastery Institute Review

Who is Mary Morrissey?

Who is Mary MorrisseyHer full name is Mary Manin Morrissey. Unlike my other articles that evaluate more what a tool can do for you and which services/products and features are offered, I have to start this review with "Why can Mary Morrissey do something for you".

You will read about her accolades, background, how she became filthy rich (and poor and rich again) and offered services later. In the case of this special Lady I have to put the soft skills first.

Mary is
  • Trustworthy
  • Believable
  • Tough with a great good heart
  • Honest
  • Strong
  • Effective
  • Real (nothing sneaky, salesy about her)
  • Straight
  • Grounded
  • Analytic and intelligent

She is like a firm handshake. But let´s hear it from her friend, Bob Proctor, who might find an other expression than "like a firm handshake".

5 Facts about Healthy Weight and Obesity

Dangerous fat pads are hard to spot

5 Facts about Healthy Weight and ObesityObesity and being overweight is said to be unhealthy and dangerous. "Less eating more working out" is something overweight people hear over and over again.

Obese people might get evil looks when they eat a treat in public and are considered the next candidate for diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Recent studies show that this thesis is not true. Being overweight does not necessarily lead to hypertension, diabetes and an early death.

Overweight but healthy?

Neuroscience and Success - The Story of Henry Molaison

Henry Molaison was the man without memory

Henry Molaison, Subconscious, Neuroscience, and Success

An article about the most famous patient of neuroscience.

Quick overview:

The night Henry Molaison died

The night Henry Molaison ( died there was no time for mourning.

Henry Molaison the man without memoryWhen Ph.D. Suzanne Corkin (head of the Corkin Lab, Professor of Behavioral Neuroscience, Principal Investigator at MIT) learned that Henry had died she did not think about his mesmerizing smile. Or the many hours she spent with him in the laboratory. At this moment, all Suzanne Corkin cared about was his brain.

In nearly 40 years, Suzanne has investigated many patients. Dementia, brain surgery, brain injuries. But none was like Henry Molaison. Over centuries, Suzanne Corkin has talked to him and followed his fate - or doom.

Why Table Salt is bad for Weight Loss and Health

Why Himalayan Salt Is Better For Your Diet And Health Than Table Salt

An important and inexpensive change of habit is switching the kind of salt you are using. A small step with a huge impact.
Himalayan Salt is better for you

Not only is the regular table salt very(!) unhealthy for you -  it is also is a diet killer. Anything poisonous that keeps our liver busy is not our friend when it comes to weight loss.

You might notice weight loss by just implementing this little step.

Opposite to the table salt you get in your supermarket, Himalayan salt contains a lot of minerals. For one, you will help your liver out by taking in fewer toxins. The instant gratification will be that switching the salt you are using will work like a water pill.

6 Alarming Facts about Subway Junk Food

Is Subway Food Healthy?

6 facts about Subway that suggest otherwise

6 Alarming Facts about Subway Junk Food
Courtesy of Perez Hilton
Yesterday I had 20 minutes until an appointment, an empty stomach and there was nothing around besides a Subway.

Obviously, I have a learning resistance. After my first visit to Subway, I did not go there again for 4 years.

I still lived in Germany 4 years ago and I thought by myself ... well, in all honesty, I wanted to think "maybe it's better in the US" just to have an excuse. Ethics is a matter of the circumstances, they say, and when I am hungry ....

I ordered a vegetarian sub (the 6 dollar menu with drink and chips). I could only take two bites from the sub. But, hey, a bad sandwich is a (hopefully) interesting blog post.

Just a few tweaks turn this popular food into detox and cleansing helpers:

Detox made easy with Artichokes1. Artichokes - Support for your liver

The main purpose of your liver is to remove toxins. Artichokes aid that process by removing toxin from your liver.

That will allow your liver to produce more bile. Bile plays an important role in managing nutrients so that it betters the nutrient-reception.

The 5 Best Protein Sources For Vegetarians

The 5 best sources of protein for Vegetarians and Pescatarians

5 Best Sources of Protein for Vegetarians and PescatariansMeat or no meat - a full spectrum of amino acids is necessary for a healthy living. Some stop eating meat for health reasons while others decide that they do not want to eat any flesh of animals or products from animals.

Two things are for sure: Most of us are eating too much meat while the quality of most non-organic meat is questionable at the least.

Adding more veggies to your diet is definitely not a bad choice - even if you do not convert completely.

Conversion Queen Lisa Sasevich - A personal review

Is your career worth the price you pay?

Let me explain why I need Lisa Sasevich  by sharing my story.

I have had my fair share of long-hour jobs that constantly made me travel. The kind of jobs where you spend your free time with prospects, colleagues and customers. Business dinners, fairs, urgent RFP´s, seminars and the after parties...

Lisa Sasevich ReviewsTogether with the fact that you are far away from home most of the time, friendships with people with regular hour jobs are very hard to maintain. Commitments to weekly classes are impossible and you will disappoint friends on a regular basis as you had to drop out of just another event that is important to them.

I will be forever grateful that I was given the chance to work in these awesome jobs.

Ultimate Success Masterclass Review, Mind Movies

Is Ultimate Success Masterclass Natalie Ledwell Scam?

What is Mind Movies USM good for?

Ultimate Success Masterclass Review by Natalie LedwellWe all aspire to be successful, and we wish to achieve our goals. But most of us don't get anywhere near our goals and success is still out of hand. Sure, one may have some wealth, but the thing is, if you don't achieve your goals and become successful, not only financially, but also mentally and socially, everything becomes insignificant.

Without achieving your goals, you feel empty and while you may be in a stable place in life, it isn't where you want to be. You want to be out there, achieving your goals. For example, you may want to start a company, and may already be at a well-paying job.

True determination is to quit your job and pursue your business, but most don't have the courage to do so. Of course, this doesn't mean that you should be reckless, which can result in financial instability.

5 Reasons for eliminating Grains from your Diet

Is eating grains good for you?

5 Reasons to stop eating grainsThe cavemen diet (Paleo) suggests removing grains from your diet completely.

One of the reasons is history. From what we know large amounts of grains became available with the start of agriculture. Agriculture marked the end of the cavemen area.

Others bring up the argument of evolution. Their standpoint is that after only 10.000 years our organism and metabolism cannot have adapted to the new food. Therefore, it is hard to digest.

Should you eat grains?

Some say that grains are tasty, others say that eating grains in its different forms is very convenient.

Especially in many countries of Europe a lot of artisanry evolves around grains. After all, grains are a natural product.

There are valid reasons - cavemen diet discussion aside - to stop eating grains.

Emotional Intelligence and Success

Emotional Intelligence and Success

Emotional Intelligence as a Leadership Skill

We all want to be successful in life. We want to move forward in our careers, and want to move up in the so called 'corporate foodchain'. However, most people make the mistake of thinking that it is merely a matter of skill and competence. This is not true. While yes, skill does matter in the workplace, it does not affect your career as much as you think.

Being skilled at your job certainly helps you get that promotion, or that job raise or anything else you aspire for. The part where it gets tricky is the fact that being skilled alone may not help you. You need to develop on some other key areas in order to truly succeed at your career.
